As part of our 5th birthday celebrations, we're celebrating the shop and
Llandeilo's past with these three exclusive tea towels!
Tobacconist
This tea towel uses a photo of our grandparents from the 1950's and is fond
memory for many of when the shop was a tobacconist and hairdressers run by our
grandparents. The premises have been owned by our family as far back as 1905!
Llandilo Bridge
Nope it's not a spelling mistake! Llandeilo was spelt 'Llandilo' for
centuries until it changed to Llandeilo by royal decree, making it alot more
apparent that it's named after St. Teilo. This tea towel features a licensed
photo from the D.C. Harries collection, who was a photographer in Llandilo and
had premises on the same street as our shop.
Morris & Sons Painting
This tea towel is part of an oil painting that was done by local welsh
artist, James Anthony. James is extremely talented and this work really
captures a feel of how the shop would have been 'back in the day'. We're lucky
to have the original piece, and it can be viewed at the shop. You'll often find
James' work on exhibition at the Oriel Mimosa gallery, just a couple of doors
down from our shop.
